Camp Counselors

All counselors and sports coaches have graduated from high school. They each go through online background checks, reference checks, and are TB tested. Most are CPR and First Aid trained or certified. Most members of our adult staff were either campers at Monarch Camps or work year round with children at a school or after-school program. Communication between groups and counselors is facilitated by Lead Counselors: veteran counselors that embody our belief that campers come first and help guide our counselors to better connect and serve our campers.

CARING

Volunteer Junior Counselor Program

The Junior Counselor Program is a volunteer program designed for high school students to teach and practice necessary job skills to prepare them for their future. Junior Counselors (JCs) are teenagers ages 14-17 that assist counselors in day to day operations, such as interacting with children, insuring group safety, and organizing activities. Most JCs have been through our Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program, and all go through an intensive training cycle. They receive volunteer hours for school and in most cases were campers themselves.
