Our Gymnastics Coordinator, Charlie N., has been leading gymnastics programs with LA Community Services since 2013. With years of experience in coaching and program development, Charlie brings a skilled and passionate team of trained gymnastics coaches dedicated to helping athletes build strength, confidence, and technique in a fun and supportive environment.

About Our Gymnastics Program

Our gymnastics classes are designed to provide children of all ages and abilities with a fun and challenging experience that promotes growth, fitness, and confidence. We offer a variety of classes tailored to each skill level, ensuring that every child can progress at their own pace.

For younger gymnasts, our classes focus on developing basic motor skills, coordination, and balance through playful, engaging activities. As children grow, our program emphasizes physical fitness, strength-building exercises, flexibility, and kinesthetic awareness, which are critical for success in gymnastics and other physical activities.

Our experienced instructors are dedicated to creating a positive, supportive atmosphere where each gymnast feels valued and encouraged to push their limits. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to refine advanced techniques, our program fosters a love for movement, teamwork, and self-confidence.

By blending skill development with fun challenges, our gymnastics classes not only build athletic ability but also help children learn perseverance, discipline, and goal-setting in a supportive and safe environment.

BEGINNING GYMNASTICS

Our Beginning Gymnastics classes are designed to introduce young children to the fundamentals of gymnastics in a fun and supportive environment. Through a variety of engaging activities, children will develop essential skills such as balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

In these classes, we focus on building confidence as children learn to interact with the gymnastics equipment. From safely warming up their muscles to mastering basic skills on the uneven bars, balance beams, and mats, they will experience the full spectrum of gymnastics. We also place emphasis on helping them understand the purpose and function of each piece of equipment, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident as they progress.

Our instructors guide each child to explore their comfort level with new movements, always encouraging them to challenge themselves while prioritizing safety. As they practice basic tumbling, handstands, and other foundational skills, children will develop a love for movement while improving their physical fitness. We also introduce the concept of goal-setting, helping them celebrate their progress and milestones along the way.

INTERMEDIATE GYMNASTICS
(HOW TO JOIN)

Intermediate Gymnastics builds upon the foundational skills developed in Beginning Gymnastics, giving gymnasts the opportunity to refine their technique and take on more advanced challenges. The class focuses on improving execution, increasing skill proficiency, and developing greater strength, balance, control, and confidence.

Through structured drills and individualized coaching, gymnasts will deepen their understanding of gymnastics terminology, proper body placement, and conditioning. As they progress, they may begin working toward more advanced skills such as handsprings, backbends, and flips.

Families interested in Intermediate Gymnastics for the first time should register their gymnast for Beginning Gymnastics and then email us to let us know they would like to be considered for the Intermediate program.

All new students must participate in Beginning Gymnastics for a minimum of one month. This introductory period allows gymnasts to learn our coaching style, class structure, terminology, and expectations. It also gives our coaches an opportunity to observe and assess their skills in a regular class environment.

Completing one month of Beginning Gymnastics does not guarantee advancement. Gymnasts will remain in Beginning Gymnastics until they consistently demonstrate the required foundational skills with proper form, control, and an understanding of the terminology used for each event. Because every gymnast progresses at a different pace, advancement to Intermediate Gymnastics is based on individual readiness and the recommendation of our coaching team.

GYMNASTICS TEAM COACHES

Our Commitment to Camp Experiences

At Monarch Camps, we believe that a camp experience is a vital part of a child’s growth and development. Our dedicated staff is passionate about providing an environment where children can not only have fun but also learn important life skills that will serve them well beyond camp.

We understand that the experiences children have at camp—whether it’s working as a team, overcoming challenges, or building lasting friendships—play a crucial role in shaping their character. Through engaging activities and hands-on experiences, we focus on fostering important life skills such as collaboration, resilience, leadership, and problem-solving.

Our team is committed to creating a positive, supportive atmosphere where every child can thrive. We believe in the power of teamwork and the value of life experiences in helping children gain confidence, develop strong values, and become more well-rounded individuals. These qualities, we believe, are essential to success in life, both at camp and beyond.
