Parents can expect from my course is that their child will be participating in workshops that teach performance skills like public speaking, how to develop a powerful stage presence, and how to interpret text and realize it as a character informed by the student’s own perspective and choices. We’ll play games and run activities that reinforce these skills and then work together as an ensemble to prepare an end of term class showcase performance for family and friends to come see that’ll give students a chance to put what they learned into practice.

Regardless of whether or not students grow up to become actors as adults, this is an opportunity for parents to see their kids develop skills like:
- Teamwork
- Long Term Planning
- Public Speaking
- Critical Thinking
- Independence
- Time Management
- Effective Listening
- Empathy
- Adaptation
- Confidence
- and more while getting to make art with their peers.
