A 24-hour, on-campus Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Substation, and Los Angeles Fire Department station less then 3 minutes away, maintain the safe environment of our campus at all times. No camp has a safer, more complete physical facility than Cub Camps. All of our regular activities are held on our campus creating minimal transition time between activities.

At Monarch Camps, we’re all about providing a fun and enriching experience where kids can grow, learn, and make lifelong memories. Our sports and activities are designed to help campers develop teamwork, creativity, motor skills, and sportsmanship—all while having a blast with friends old and new! With our focus on camp traditions and inclusivity, we create a welcoming, family-like atmosphere where every child feels at home and supported in their journey.
Since 1971, Monarch Camps has been a trusted day camp in Los Angeles Valley College, offering an experience that’s both kid-friendly and parent-approved. We’ve been perfecting the art of summer fun for decades, and our 35-acre campus at Los Angeles City College provides the perfect setting for all the excitement with our Cub Camps
Our incredible facility includes an aquatics complex, two indoor gymnasiums, a soccer field, a running track, tennis courts, and recreation rooms where kids can dive into fun science lessons and experiments. Plus, we’ve got a performing arts area where campers can unleash their creativity! And of course, we have the BEST COUNSELORS EVER, ready to make every day special and unforgettable.

- Extended care available from 7:30am-8:45am and 4:30pm-5:30pm at no charge.
- We do not offer half day services.
Classic Day Camp:
Our Classic Day Camp is our longest-running and most beloved camp option, offering a perfect balance of creativity, sports, and adventure—along with plenty of swimming fun! Campers dive into the day with a variety of activities, including theatre games, arts & crafts, and exciting sports like basketball, tennis, soccer, and more. Whether it’s perfecting their serve or scoring the game-winning goal, kids get to explore a range of sports while developing teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship.
An essential part of our summer fun is swimming! We believe swimming is a must-have for every summer, and our campers love taking a dip in the pool to cool off, have fun, and build water safety skills. Whether it’s a fun pool game or just splashing around with friends, swimming is an activity that makes every summer day even better.
What really sets Classic Day Camp apart is our emphasis on camp traditions and community. From singing and dancing to dress-up and themed special event days, we create an atmosphere where kids can freely express themselves and make lasting memories. Weekly field trips offer even more adventure and exploration, giving campers the chance to discover new places and experiences.
Through all these activities, campers build lasting friendships and a strong sense of belonging, making Classic Day Camp the perfect way to spend the summer. It’s about fun, friendship, and unforgettable experiences—and swimming is just the cherry on top!

- Hours: 7:30am – 5:30pm
Summer Break Day Camp
- Registration Opens: February 1st, 2026
- Camper: Ages 5-13 years old
- Volunteer Junior Counselor: Ages 14-17 years old
- Adult Counselor: Ages 18+ years old
- Dates: Wednesday June 10th through Tuesday August 11th
- Hours: 7:30am – 5:30pm
School Holidays & Pupil Free Days Single Day Camp
- Registration Opens: Till full or the Wednesday of the week prior to each day.
- Camper: Ages 4-13 years old
- Volunteer Junior Counselor: Ages 14-17 years old
- Adult Counselor: Ages 18+ years old
- Dates for 2025/2026: Friday, August 29th | September 23rd | October 2nd
- Hours: 7:30am – 5:30pm
Classic Day Camp: Our longest running and most popular camp option where campers participate in swim lessons, arts & crafts, fun activities and play a variety of sports (such as gymnastics, basketball, tennis, soccer, archery and more). In this camp option, we really focus on building a strong sense of camp tradition and community through singing, dancing, dress-up and themed special event days.
Thanksgiving Break Day Camp

- Dates: Monday November 24th through Wednesday November 26th
Winter Break Day Camp
- Registration Opens: October 1st, 2025
