CIT Program – Building Future Leaders!

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program at Monarch Camps is designed to nurture young individuals into responsible, well-rounded future leaders while providing a fun and enriching experience. This program helps participants gain both the skills and the confidence they need to grow into successful Junior Counselors and Counselors in the future.
Program Goals:
- Personal Growth & Responsibility: CITs will be challenged to step up and grow into responsible, productive young adults through a variety of exciting activities, all designed to foster independence, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Counselor Development: This program is the perfect stepping stone for those interested in becoming future camp counselors. CITs will receive a combination of classroom-style training and hands-on experience working with groups of campers, all under the supervision of experienced counselors. By the end of the program, they will be well-trained and ready to take on more significant roles at camp.
Program Details:
- Training & Experience: Each week, CITs will receive structured training, focusing on camp leadership, team-building, and communication skills. They will be assigned to work directly with campers and their counselors to help manage groups, run activities, and assist with daily camp routines.
- CPR & First Aid Certification: CITs will receive official CPR and First Aid training and certification, empowering them with essential life-saving skills.
- Life Skills Development: Beyond camp-specific skills, CITs will also engage in life skills training on crucial topics such as:
- How to fill out a job application
- Interviewing tips and techniques
- Professional communication
- Special Activities & Field Trips: CITs will enjoy exclusive special events and field trips.
These experiences are designed to encourage teamwork, challenge CITs outside their comfort zone, and allow them to grow in a supportive, exciting environment.
Admission & Registration:
- Admission by Interview Only: The CIT program is selective, and only a limited number of spots are available each year. CITs must be accepted into the program before registering.

- Starting April 1st, we will begin reviewing applications. If your camper is accepted, we will send you a promo code to register.
Please note: DO NOT register before receiving confirmation that your camper has been accepted into the CIT program.
